Scriva / Privacy Policy

Scriva Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 12, 2026

Scriva ("the app") is developed by Mehmet Varol. This policy explains how the app handles your information.

Summary: Scriva does not collect, store, or share any personal data. We have no servers, and nothing you write ever leaves your Mac through the app.

1. Data we collect

None. Scriva has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting SDKs, and no third-party tracking libraries. We do not collect usage data, identifiers, contact information, or file contents.

2. Your documents and files

Files you open, edit, or save stay on your Mac. To restore your open tabs, unsaved changes, and sidebar folders after a relaunch, Scriva stores a session file and macOS security-scoped bookmarks inside the app's own sandboxed container on your Mac. App preferences (such as zoom level, language, and display options) are stored locally in macOS user defaults. This data is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. You can delete it at any time by removing the app.

3. Network access

Scriva does not send your data over the network. The app's HTML preview is rendered locally and blocks loading of remote resources. Network connections are made only by Apple's system services, for example when you purchase or restore Scriva Pro through the App Store.

4. Purchases

Scriva Pro subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information, name, or Apple Account details. The app only checks, on your device, whether a valid purchase exists. Apple's handling of your data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

5. Printing and exporting

When you print or export a document to HTML or PDF, the result is created locally and saved only where you choose.

6. Children's privacy

Scriva does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
